Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos meets with the Ambassador of South Korea, Young-jip Ahn

Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos met on 2 December with the Ambassador of South Korea, Young-jip Ahn.

In their talks, which took place in a very friendly climate, they noted the excellent bilateral relations between Greece and South Korea, on a political and economic level, and underscored the potential for further tightening of those relations.

The South Korean Ambassador underscored the South Koreans’ interest in Greece as a tourism destination. Further, he highlighted the business environment South Korea offers for Greek enterprises, particularly in the sector of high-quality agricultural products.

The Alternate Foreign Minister thanked the South Korean Ambassador for South Korea’s $2.3 million contribution -- made through the UNHCR -- to our country for the purpose of dealing with the refugee crisis in 2015 and 2016. Mr. Katrougalos also stressed the potential that exists for further promotion of economic relations, as well as for scientific and cultural exchanges between Greece and South Korea.
