Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos meets with the Irish Minister of State for European Affairs, D. Murphy

Alternate Foreign Minister G. Katrougalos met today with the Irish Minister of State for European Affairs, Dara Murphy.

The discussion took place in an excellent climate, and a substantial convergence of views was ascertained regarding current European policy issues. The Irish Minister expressed Ireland's solidarity with the Greek government's efforts to reduce the public debt, noting the Irish people's undivided support for our country.

The two Ministers also discussed in depth about the course of Brexit, in regard to which they shared, to a significant degree, similar views. They also expressed readiness to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all sectors, with emphasis, from the Irish side, on enhancing cooperation in the digital technology sector.
