The Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis, today had a customary meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ambassador of Armenia to Greece, Fadey Charchoghlyan.
The meeting, held in a particularly friendly atmosphere, confirmed the excellent level of bilateral political relations between the two countries. Furthermore, Ambassador Charchoghlyan pointed out it is necessary for economic relations between the two countries to grow stronger as Greece was one of the very first countries to invest in Armenia.
The Armenian Ambassador stressed the need for stronger cooperation in the private sector and, moreover, stated his intention to further advance bilateral cultural and educational relations.
Ambassador Charchoghlyan also referred to the increasing numbers of Armenians residing in Greece. The Armenian community currently has over 40,000 members and is very active in business.
