Deputy Minister D. Mardas’ visit to Kazakhstan (25-27 September 2016)

Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas is returning from Astana tomorrow, after the end of the proceedings of the 3rd Inter-Ministerial Committee between Greece and Kazakhstan. In that framework, a relevant cooperation protocol was signed by Deputy Foreign Minister D. Mardas and his Kazakh counterpart, R. Vassilenko.

Parallel to the Inter-Ministerial Committee meeting, the first Kazakh-Greek Business Forum was also held in Astana and two cooperation deals were signed, at its sidelines, between respective enterprises working in the field of hi-tech products and medical rehabilitation services. A total of 15 Greek businesses  took part in the Forum, representing the food industry, pharmaceuticals, RES and consulting services, and they had a multitude of meetings with their peers from Kazakhstan.

Moreover, on the margins of the Joint Inter-ministerial Committee, Deputy Minister Mardas had a meeting with E. Idrissov, the Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs. The two Ministers confirmed excellent level of bilateral relations while they examined ways to strengthen relations further.

Lastly, Deputy Minister Mardas delivered a speech at the University of Astana in the presence of local academia and representatives of the diplomatic corps.
