The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Terens Quick, will be in Imbros tomorrow, 17 January, to attend the ceremony of the cutting of the New Year’s Cake for the island’s Hellenic schools by His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.
On this occasion, the Deputy Minister will visit the Middle School/High School of Agridion, as well as the Primary School of Saints Theodore, he will meet with members of the Greek community in other villages of the island, as well as with representatives from the Imbrian Associations of Athens and Thessaloniki. Furthermore, in the morning on the same day, he will attend a formal meeting with the Prefect of Imbros, Mr. Muhittin Gürel.
Mr. Quick will be accompanied by the Consul General of Greece to Istanbul, Mr. George Sekeris, and his Diplomatic Counselor, Mr. Victor Maligoudis.
Finally, on 18 January, prior to his return to Athens, Mr. Quick will attend the Holy Liturgy to the Virgin Mary, which will be celebrated at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos, officiated by Metropolitan Cyril of Imbros and Tenedos, who also celebrates his name day that day.
