In the framework of the 71st Session and the high-level Week of the UN General Assembly in New York, Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias met, on Wednesday September 21, with Iyad Ameen Madani, Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During this meeting, they discussed international and regional affairs, such as the Syrian crisis, affecting the stability in the wider Middle East.
Foreign Minister N. Kotzias presented Greece’s positions on the Cyprus issue, stressing the need to have the system of guarantees abolished and Turkish troops withdrawn from the island.
The two interlocutors had a fruitful exchange of views and perspectives on issues within the scope of the OIC, which are of special interest to Greece.
