The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and of the Hellenic Republic held political consultations, on 11 December 2015, in Skopje, as part of the process of Confidence Building Measures. The consultations were co-chaired by the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Mrs. Elena Kuzmanovska, while on the Greek part, by the Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Ambassador Mr. Petros Mavroidis.
At the consultations, there were views and positions exchanged on the on-going migrant crisis and in this context it was underlined that it was necessary to continue exchanging information and convening regular meetings between representatives of the border police of the two countries. There was also an exchange of views about the current developments in the Middle East and North Africa, as well as about regional developments and other issues of common interest.
The talks were held in an open and constructive atmosphere. It was agreed that the practice of convening political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and of the Hellenic Republic continue under the required dynamic.
