Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos made the following statement regarding the latest developments in Israel and the Gaza Strip:
“We again express our strong concern at the recent developments and the escalation of the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip. At this time, the absolute priority is the implementation of the ceasefire and a return to the truce of 2012, with the aim of averting a new humanitarian tragedy in the region. Together with the other member states of the European Union, as well as within the framework of the UN, Greece will work in that direction.”
