Seventy two years after the liberation of Auschwitz, mankind honours the memory of millions of Jews who were exterminated in the Nazi concentration camps.
Greece pays tribute to the innocent victims of the Holocaust. Among them, thousands of our compatriots, Greek Jews who fell victim to an unprecedented atrocity. The memory of this tragedy will not be forgotten and will serve as a stark reminder for younger generations, looking into the future.
The Greek State attaches utmost importance to the unequivocal condemnation of anti-Semitism and makes systematic efforts to combat intolerance and racism. Moreover, it is working systematically to redress the historical injustices against the Greek Jewish community and to institutionally enshrine respect for the memory of the Holocaust.
