Foreign Minister N. Kotzias’ statement to the press following his meeting with E.B. Eide, Special Advisor of the UN Secretary General on Cyprus (NYC, 20.09.16)N.Kotzias: Today the Prime Minister and I had a series of meetings, of which I believe the most important  was the one with Vice-President J. Biden, during which Greek-US relations and developments in the Americas and Europe in general were discussed.

Moreover, there were another two important meetings which were pertinent to establishing the GC9, an institution bringing together the greatest and most historical cultures of the world that still have a role nowadays, such as Iraq, representing Mesopotamia and Babylonia, and Bolivia with its 4500 years of traditions in spiritual culture and history.

In the meeting we had with Espen Barth Eide, SG Special Advisor on Cyprus, we once more discussed the Cyprus issue and the need to find a solution that provides for the safety of the entire Cypriot people, a solution without any anachronistic guarantees and foreign troops on the island.
