Commemoration of the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Crete (24-27 May 2019)

Consul General of Greece, Mr. D. Michalopoulos participated at the events which marked the 78th anniversary of the Battle of Crete.  Deputy Chief of Defence of the Hellenic National Defence Staff, Vice Admiral I. Paxivanakis took part in the commemorations, which included the parade and wreath-laying ceremonies at the Shrine of Remembrance and the Australian – Hellenic Memorial, the visit to the Epping RSL Sub Branch, where a commemorative plaque was unveiled and finally the official luncheon at the “Cretan Village”.

Vice Admiral I. Paxivanakis paid a courtesy visit to the Parliament of VIC, where he met with Minister for Health, Mrs J. Mikakos and Member for Bentleigh, Mr. N. Staikos.
