Opening of the 25th Greek Film Festival in Melbourne (10 October 2018)

The Consul General of Melbourne, Mr. D. Michalopoulos participated in the opening ceremony of the 25th Greek Film Festival, which took place on the 10th of October at the Astor Theatre.

The Greek Film Festival is organised every year in five other Australian cities (Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth & Canberra).  In Melbourne the event is hosted by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne and Victoria (GOCMV) and constitutes one of the most important dates in its cultural calendar.

The President of the GOCMV, Mr. B. Papastergiades was the main speaker at the event in Astor Theater and Mr. St. Dimopoulos, MP for Oakleigh, representing the Hon. D. Andrews, Premier of Victoria, Dr. K. Allan, Liberal Candidate for Prahran, representing the state Opposition and the Consul General, among others, took to the microphone to commend on the GOCMV’s initiative.
