Participation of the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne in the Doxology and the memorial service to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the re-unification of the Dodecanese with Greece
The Consul General of Greece in Melbourne took part, on 18 March, at the Doxology at the church of Axion Estin in Northcote to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the reunification of the Dodecanese islands with Greece. Following the church service, he and other official guests laid a wreath at the monument of the Unknown Soldier, in the church’s gardens.
In his message the Consul General stressed the importance of the anniversary for all Dodecanesians abroad and the need for them to cherish the love for their country, a feeling that guided their ancestors when they struggled to make the dream of reunification come true.
