Visit of Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. T. Quick, in Melbourne in the framework of the “Nostos III” programme of cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus and the Arab Republic of Egypt
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. T. Quick, was in Melbourne from 24 to 27 March, to take part at the meeting of the “Nostos III” programme of cooperation, along with his counterparts from Cyprus, Mr. Ph. Photiou, Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cyrpiots and from Egupt, Mrs N. Makram, Minister for Emigration and Expatriates Affairs.
The programme of the Deputy Minister’s visit included two meetings, one with youth groups and one with the Chambers of Commerse from the Greek, Cypriot and Egyptian diaspora in Victoria, separate talks with the Premier of Victoria, Mr. D. Andrews as well as federal and state MPs and a visit to the Immigration Museum.
The three state officials also attended the reception, hosted at Malvern Town Hall by the Consulate General, to mark the Greek National Day on 25 March. In his speech, Mr. T. Quick praised the high level of cooperation between Greece and Australia and made important announcements on the launch of the “Work and holiday visa” programme on 1 July 2019 and other issues.
