Minister for Foreign Affairs, G. Katrougalos, to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (Brussels, 18 March 2019)
Minister for Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, will participate in a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council which will be held in Brussels on Monday, 18 March.
Talks between the Ministers of Foreign Affairs will revolve around current international developments, and specifically the situation in Yemen, while relations between the EU and Moldova will also be discussed, following the recent parliamentary elections there (24 February).
Emphasis will also be placed on EU-China relations, with a goal of preparing the corresponding talks in the European Council which will be held on 21-22 March. The Ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views with their Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on issues of international interest which will concern the upcoming 21st EU-China Summit Meeting (Brussels, 9 April).
On the morning of that same day, and prior to commencement of the proceedings of the FAC, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, together with his Romanian counterpart, Teodor Meleșcanu, will host a working breakfast for the Friends of North Macedonia, with Nikola Dimitrov as an invited guest. The subject of the discussion will be the progress of North Macedonia’s accession to the EU, while the importance of implementing the reform agenda as well as full implementation of the Prespa Agreement will be stressed.
