Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs G. Katrougalos to participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council (Brussels, 19 November 2018)
Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Katrougalos will participate in the EU Foreign Affairs Council taking place in Brussels on Monday, 19 November.
The meeting will focus on the situation in Central Asia in view of the upcoming EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting, the course of the reforms in Bosnia-Herzegovina following the recent elections, and on developments in the Ukraine. During the working luncheon, a discussionwill be held on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and how the EU can contribute to its solution.
Subsequently, during the joint session of EU Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers, among other things, there will be a review of EU initiatives under way in the fields of Defence and Security, such as the newly adopted Civilian CSDP Compact, along with aspects of the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO).
On the margins of the Council, Mr Katrougalos will hold meetings with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus and France, Nikos Christodoulides and Jean-Yves Le Drian.
