Statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Kotzias, following his meeting with Johannes Hahn, the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 15 December 2017)

N. KOTZIAS: Today we had an extensive discussion with Commissioner Hahn, with whom we talked about the prospects for the enlargement of the European Union. I underscored once again that every enlargement must ensure compliance with the conditions set by the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the European Union. I underscored the need for a number of reforms to be implemented, and – to the extent that the countries themselves want to join – I once again expressed our support and willingness to contribute to this end.
