Ministry of Foreign Affairs announcement on Greece’s election to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for 2019-2022 (Montreal, 1 October 2019)

Having received the support of 159 of the 177 countries that voted at the ICAO’s 40th Triennial Assembly, Greece was elected, for the first time in the Organization’s 75 years, a member of the Council, Part III.

The election took place yesterday, Tuesday, 1 October, in Montreal, Canada.

Greece’s election in an Organization of obvious international and national importance, and with an impressive number of votes, is a major success. A success that, among other things, reflects and enhances the country’s standing in the international aviation community and beyond.
