Museum kit on Ancient Greek Pottery from the Cycladic Art Museum of Athens

Friday, 12 October 2018

The main theme of this museum kit is ancient Greek clay art and it was designed by the Educational Program Department at the Cycladic Art Museum of Athens. It was designed mainly for students in all grades of elementary and high school. The material found in the museum kit can also be used by organizations and operators who are involved with, and promote, Greece’s cultural heritage.

The goal of the museum kit is to introduce students to ancient Greek clay artifacts in an interactive and creative way. Students will have the opportunity to learn about:

•    The basic stages of constructing a clay artifact
•    The main styles of decorating clay artifacts (i.e. Geometric, Archaic and Classical art periods in Greece)
•    The shapes and names of the artifacts, as well as the correlation between the shape and its use

You can electronically download the contents of the museum kit.

The museum kit provided by the Consulate General of Greece in Toronto was acquired through the sponsorship of the Bodossaki Foundation.
