The Region of Attica at the international exhibition ITB China 2024, with the presence of the Consul General of Greece in Shanghai
At the opening of the international tourism exhibition ITB China 2024(27-29.05),held in Shanghai, the Governor of the Attica Region Nikos Hardalias was present, as part of the participation of the Region as co-exhibitor at the national pavilion of the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT).
Mr. Hardalias, among others, in his speechstated: "Attica and Shanghai are two key gateways between East and West. Two metropolitan regions with a significant geostrategic footprint, separated only by the geographical distance. Because the elements that unite them are various and of great significance". The Governor of the Region of Attica underlined that the two countries are linked by "the long-standing cultural tradition, close trade, economic and business relations". Furthermore, he noted that the participation of the Regionof Attica at the exhibition is an "open invitation to the hundreds of thousands of Chinese friends visiting Greece to experience the unique ‘Attica’s experience’”.
The Consul General of Greece in Shanghai, Mr. Georgios Partheniou and the Head of the Commercial Section visited the Pavilion of the Region.
Among his other contacts in Shanghai, the Governor of the Attica Region, in the presence of the Consul General, met with the Mayor of Shanghai, Gong Zheng.
The Governor also gave interviews to China Today and Global Times, in which he pointed out, among others, that the Attica Region is a destination that combines rare natural beauty, cultural heritage with universal recognition and high-quality hospitality and transportation services, offering visitors a unique experience. Mr. Hardalias stressed out that the cooperation between Greece and China is based on a very strong foundation and is constantly expanding, and that there is huge scope for cooperation in various domains, and, of course, in tourism. In particular (Global Times), he underlined that Greece is China's gateway to Europe, whereas he highlighted Attica as a unique tourist destination.
