Vital Records

Α. Marriage
The following supporting documents must be submitted in person by the spouse who is a Greek citizen:

1. Registration at the Consulate
- Copy of spouses’ passports and Hong Kong or Macao resident permits
- Marriage certificate from the Hong Kong or Macao Registry with Apostille
- Certificate of municipal registration in Greece for the spouse who is a Greek citizen (can be sought directly by the Consulate General upon request)
- Application form for the registration of the marriage at the Special Registry of Athens (filled in at the Consulate General).

2. Family registration with the Authorities in Greece
- Marriage certificate from the Hong Kong or Macao Registry Office with Apostille
- Copy of Greek birth certificate of the spouse who is a Greek citizen (can be sought directly by the Consulate General upon request)
- Application for family registration in Greece (filled in at the Consulate General)
- Sworn statement of Law 1599/86 that the applicant has not already family registration in Greece (filled in at the Consulate General).

B. Birth
The following supporting documents must be submitted in person by the parent who is a Greek citizen:

- Copy of parents’ passports and Hong Kong or Macao resident permits
- Birth certificate of the child from the Hong Kong or Macao Registry with Apostille
- Certificate of municipal registration in Greece of the parent who is a Greek citizen (can be sought directly by the Consulate General upon request)
- Application form for the registration of the birth at the Special Registry of Athens. (filled in at the Consulate General)
- Sworn statement of Law 1599/86 that the child is not already registered in a Municipality in Greece (filled in at the Consulate General).
- 1 color photo of the child.

C. Death
The following supporting documents must be submitted in person by the next kin or an authorized person:

- Passport or identity card of the applicant.
- Death Certificate from the Hong Kong or Macao Registry with Apostille
- Greek passport or Greek identity card of the deceased
- Certificate of municipal registration in Greece of the deceased (can be sought directly by the Consulate General upon request)
