Ambassador of Greece to China Leonidas Rokanas visits prestigious Chinese Academic Institutions Peking University- Center for Hellenic Studies

The Ambassador of Greece to China Leonidas Rokanas visited the oldest Centre for Greek studies in China (est. 2001), located at Peking University and held meeting with the Center Director Professor Peng Xiaoyu and chief teacher, professor Elena Avramidou and students.

The Embassy Delegation presented books to the library of the Center and held informal talks with teaching staff and students on the relevance of Greek Studies today, especially in the context of the China's most prestigious University with an unparalleled tradition in promoting the study of history of Greece and relevant research work. Ambassador Rokanas thanked the teaching staff for their diligent and continuous efforts in promoting the teaching of Modern Greek, and expressed the intent of the Embassy to regularly hold in future annual award ceremonies for excelling Chinese students of modern Greek.
