Foreign Minister Kotzias’ statement following his meeting with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Chao
Below is Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias’ statement following his meeting today, at the Foreign Ministry, with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Chao:
N. KOTZIAS: It was a pleasure to welcome the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Chow, who talked with me about the relations between our states, which represent two of the oldest and deepest cultures in the history of humanity: the cultures of China and Greece.
We talked about the problems in global developments, about the Middle East and the waves of migration, about matters that have to do with the main issues of China’s foreign policy, like the matter of Taiwan and the issue of peace in the region of Southeast Asia, about matters concerning the Cyprus issue – you know that we always have the support of the UN Security Council – and matters that concern the Balkans and Greek-Turkish relations.
We talked about the further development of Greek-Chinese relations in all sectors, including economy – investments and trade in particular – culture and educational programmes.
