Greece, China to boost capital market cooperation
The heads of Greece and China's capital markets regulators signed ον Αugust 31 2017 a bilateral protocol to boost cooperation between their respective market and securities commissions.
The Protocol was signed by Chalarambos Gotsis, the President of Hellenic Capital Market Commission, and Liu Shiyu, the Chairman of China's Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), in the Chinese capital.
The bilateral protocol expands cooperation between the two authorities to exchange confidential information and mutual cooperation in capital market issues, with the aim to establish an immediate and efficient communication for Greek and Chinese investors.
Gotsis made a brief presentation of the Greek capital market to CSRC, focusing on increasing Chinese investments in Greece and underlined the significance of a "Golden Visa" program allowing Chinese citizens to invest in Greek assets.
Liu referred to the excellent relations between the two countries and said:
"Greece is a preferential partner in Europe because of the history connecting the two peoples and the common perception for cooperation based on principles and values. With the signing of the protocol we are ready to establish partnerships. For us it is important to have direct communication and exchange of information".
Ambassador Leonidas Rokanas, and the head of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs of the Embassy of Greece in Beijing Minister Counselor E. Stantzos and Economic and Commercial Affairs Counselor P. Davanelos attended the signing of the Protocol.
