Message from the Ambassador of Greece to China, Mr. Georgios Iliopoulos

"Greece stands together with the whole word and China in the fight against the novel coronavirus. The outbreak of the disease is a matter of global concern that requires deepening of international cooperation on all fronts in order to mitigate the consequences of the outbreak, limit its spread and safeguard public health.

China's response against this challenge is decisive, and the Embassy of Greece trusts that our common efforts will prove decisive in winning this battle against the disease, the soonest possible.

Our hearts and minds are with the Chinese people, especially those most severely affected in the Hubei area and the city of Wuhan".

In an interview with Global Times Daily on February 4 2020, Ambassador Iliopoulos stated that "All Chinese nationals wishing to travel to Greece are welcome to do so as always; All departments at the Consular Authorities of Greece in China are operating normally, including the visa section."  He also highlighted the fact that "The outbreak will not affect whatsoever existing projects of bilateral cooperation between China and Greece, though individual businesses and travelers might need to adjust their schedules".
