Minister of Foreign Affairs, N. Kotzias, to visit China (Beijing/Shanghai, 27-29.08.2018)
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Kotzias, will travel to China and meet with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Wang Yi, on Monday, 27 August, in Beijing. The talks will emphasize on further strengthening of bilateral relations, with a focus on multilevel economic cooperation in the framework of China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ (OBOR) initiative. International and regional issues will also be discussed, with emphasis on developments in the wider Eastern Mediterranean Region and the Cyprus issue.
On 28 August, Mr. Kotzias will meet with the Vice President of China, Wang Qishan, and the Chief of General Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China, Yang Jiechi, and he will deliver a speech at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), China’s premier state academic agency for social sciences.
On 29 August, Mr. Kotzias will depart for Shanghai, where he will meet with senior local officials, business leaders, including the president of COSCO, Xu Lirong, and the leadership of the Shanghai Institute for International Studies.
