Commemoration of EL GRECO - 400 years since the death of the Cretan artist

Marking the 400 year anniversary of the death of the renowned Cretan artist Domenikos Theotokopoulos, better known as El Greco the Greek Embassy in Cyprus, on the occasion of the Greek Presidency of the European Union and Agia Napa Municipality, organized an event, on 6 May, 19:30 at the Municipal Museum 'Sea'.

In the first part of the event, Mr. Robin Cormack, Professor Emeritus of the History of Art, University College of London, UK, spoke on "The Many Faces of El Greco."
The second part of the event included excerpts from the poetry of Vincenzo Cornaro (1553-1614) "Erotokritos", set to music and performed by order of Manos Hadjidakis Cretan music of Ludovikos ton Anogion.
