It has been 20 years since the untimely loss of Giannos Kranidiotis, the insightful politician and patriot who, with consistency and a keen sense of responsibility, promoted our country’s interests, and who, in life and death, is a symbol of the constant and uninterrupted collaboration of Greek and Cypriot Hellenism.
A visionary, a beloved politician and acclaimed diplomat, Giannos Kranidiotis was a distinguished figure who contributed decisively, through his commitment and actions, to the accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the European Union, which was certainly one of the highlights of the work he did for Hellenism throughout his life.
Today, at a new crucial turning point for the Cyprus problem, the diplomatic legacy of Giannos Kranidiotis continues to serve as a guide for Greek foreign policy, which, in close cooperation with the Republic of Cyprus, is continuing its efforts to achieve a just and viable solution to the Cyprus problem.
