Today, 18 March, under the presidency of Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou, the 1st Meeting of the Special Interministerial Committee was convened for the purpose of implementing strategic cooperation between Greece and North Macedonia.
“Our goal is to provide skin and bones to the Prespa Agreement. We are here to coordinate all the synergies so that the most important part can be seen, for the benefit of both sides, which is the importance of the Prespa Agreement. We are here to provide the required policy framework. We aim towards your contribution so that collaborations can proceed as soon as possible.” stated Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou, addressing the members of the Special Interministerial Committee.
The secretaries general and directors general of ministries took part in the Special Interministerial Committee. During upcoming meetings, specific proposals are expected to be presented for synergies in the fields of agriculture, political protection, energy, the environment, industry, education, research and technology, healthcare, transports, and cross-border cooperation.
The promotion of synergies will be examined, inter alia, through the provision and exchange of technical know-how as well as through European programmes.
