Alternate FM Xydakis meets with French Ambassador Christophe Chantepy (Athens, 9 November 2015)

The Alternate Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Nikos Xydakis, met at the Foreign Ministry today with the French Ambassador to Greece, Christophe Chantepy.

The meeting, which took place subsequent to French President François Hollande’s recent visit to Athens, focused on ways to elaborate the Joint Cooperation Declaration signed by Messrs. Tsipras and Hollande, reaffirming the close cooperation between the two countries on the bilateral and European level. The discussion also touched on the steps in the implementation of the Greek programme, in view of today’s Eurogroup meeting. Finally, there was a discussion of the refugee and migration issue and the need for a joint and comprehensive European response.
