Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou meets with delegation of French MPs (Athens 28 March 2019)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou received today a delegation of today French MPs who are members of the French National Assembly’s European Affairs Committee, namely MPs Sabine Thillaye, President of the European Affairs Committee, Liliana Tanguy, Vice President, André Chassaigne, Secretary, Marietta Karamanli, Secretary, and Pierre-Henri Dumont, Member, participated in the delegation.

At the meeting, which was held in an especially friendly climate, confirming the excellent relations between the two countries, views were exchanged related to current developments both on a European and regional level.

More specifically, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs presented Greece's positions related to BREXIT, immigration, and the enlargement process for the Western Balkan countries to join the European Union, emphasising the case of North Macedonia, subsequent to the Prespa Agreement. At the same time, she referred also to the great challenges that the European Union faces, such as, inter alia, the new Multiannual Financial Framework and deepening Europe's Economic and Monetary Union, while underscoring the importance of the upcoming European Parliament elections for the future of the European Union.
