Assistance from Greece to FYROM to deal with the destruction from the extensive floods of 6 August

Following actions on the part of the Greek government, the first portion of Greek assistance for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, to deal with the destruction caused by the floods of 6 August 2016, will be delivered this afternoon.

More specifically, the Secretariat General for Citizen protection, with the assistance of the Hellenic Fire Service, has arranged for the sending of five portable pumps and five generators to assist those hit by the floods.

In parallel, consultations are under way between the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the FYROM Ministry of Interior for the granting of additional assistance requested by the FYROM authorities to meet the needs of those hit by the floods.
