Bilateral Relations

Bosnia and Herzegovina

Along with all the other members of the EU, Greece recognized Bosnia and Herzegovina in April 1992. The Greek Embassy in Sarajevo was established in 1996 and also includes a Consular Office, an Economic and Commercial Affairs Office and a Defence Attaché’s Office.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina Embassy in Greece has been in operation since 1998.

Bilateral Relations

Within the framework of its regional policy on the Western Balkans, Greece supports Bosnia and Herzegovina’s European and Euroatlantic course in a consistent and practical manner. Bosnia and Herzegovina participates and collaborates harmoniously with Greece in many regional cooperation formats, including the South-East European Cooperation Process and the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), the Secretariat of which is hosted in Bosnian and Herzegovina. Furthermore, Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (2013) for the provision of expertise in order to accelerate the integration process of the latter in the EU. Bilateral cooperation in sectors of mutual interest, i.e. commerce, tourism, energy and transport, is increasing steadily.
