Kazakhstan
Greece and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations in 1992. A Greek embassy opened in Almaty in 1997 and was relocated to Astana (formerly Nur-Sultan) in April 2009. The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Greece commenced operations in 2009.
Bilateral Relations
In October 2022, the 5th Meeting of the Joint Inter-ministerial Committee for Economic and Technological Cooperation between Greece and Kazakhstan took place in Astana, where a Cooperation Protocol, a Letter of Intent for strengthening agricultural cooperation, and a Memorandum of Cooperation between Enterprise Greece and Kazakh Invest were signed.
There is significant potential to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation, with a strong emphasis on trade, agriculture, investment, energy, construction, and tourism.
Greece supports Kazakhstan's efforts to strengthen its ties with the European Union.
