Bilateral relations between Greece and Latvia are very good and are mainly determined by the participation of both countries in the EU and NATO.

Latvia
There is mutual representation at the level of Embassies, which operate in Athens and Riga. Greece recognized Latvia as an independent state in May 1922. Diplomatic relations between Greece and Latvia were resumed in 1991, after Latvia regained its independence. The Greek Embassy in Riga has been operating since 2005, while the Latvian Embassy in Athens has been operating since 1998.

The Department of Classics and Anthropology of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia (Riga) hosts a Centre for Greek Studies.
The Greek Community in Latvia is estimated at about one hundred people, of whom sixty are also Latvian citizens.
