Bilateral Relations
Montenegro
Greece recognized Montenegro on June 13, 2006. During the visit of the Montenegrin Foreign Minister to Athens, in December of the same year, a Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations was signed. In February 2007, the Consulate General in Podgorica, established in 1998, was upgraded to an Embassy. Today, the Greek Embassy in Podgorica has a Consular Office. The Office of the Defence Attaché in Belgrade is also in charge of Montenegro. Montenegro has maintained an Embassy in Athens since September 2009.
