There is mutual representation at the level of Embassies, which operate in Athens and Oslo. The Greek Embassy in Oslo started operating in 1980.
Bilateral Relations
Educational-cultural relations betweenGreece and Norway are governed by the bilateral Educational Agreement of 1976. Modern Greek is not taught in Norwegian universities, but ancient Greek is taught in the Classical Studies programs at the Universities of Oslo, Trondheim and Bergen. The University of Oslo has a permanent Chair of Philosophy and Classical Studies. The Greek diaspora is estimated at around 5,000 people, with the majority living in Oslo and, to a lesser extent, in other cities such as Stavanger and Bergen.
