Qatar

Greece maintains diplomatic relations with Qatar, which were formally established in 1973. Our country maintains  an embassy in Doha since 2007, while Qatar opened its Embassy in Athens in 2008.

Useful Information
The Prime Minister’s official visit to Qatar (21-22.8.2022) demonstrated the mutual will to strengthen bilateral relations. Greece and Qatar have signed an Economic and Technological Cooperation Agreement since 2009, under which would operate Joint Inter ministerial Committees in order to identify common areas of interest and set common objectives for the promotion of bilateral relations. Bilateral military cooperation with Qatar is based on the Military Cooperation Agreement, which is in the process of being renewed. A number of Greeks live in Qatar, most of whom are businesspersons or work for companies.
