Greece and Saudi Arabia maintain excellent relations which have now been upgraded on a strategic level. During the visit of Mohammed Bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, the Memorandum for the establishment of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council was signed. (HLSCC) The HLSCC includes the seven following committees: a) Political Affairs Committee, b) Defence and Security Committee, c) Investment Committee, d) Energy Committee, e) Tourism Committee, f) Culture Committee, g) Sports Committee. Our country recognizes the leading role of Saudi Arabia in the Gulf Cooperation Council and in the general area of the Middle East. Greece consistently highlights within the EU the stabilising regional role of Saudi Arabia, supporting the deepening of Euro-Saudi cooperation in the fields of energy, green transition and security. The cooperation between Greece and Saudi Arabia in the field of mutual and reciprocal support for candidacies in International Organizations of the UN system is considered excellent.
