The accession of Slovakia to Euro-Atlantic institutions (EU and NATO) in 2004 further strengthened Greek-Slovakian relations, which, beyond their bilateral dimension, include cooperation as EU partners and NATO allies.
Bilateral Relations
Slovakia
There is mutual representation at the level of the Embassies, which operate in Athens and Bratislava. Diplomatic relationsbetween Greece and Slovakia were established after the independence of the latter (1.1.1993). The diplomatic representation of Greece in Slovakia dates back to the establishment of the Greek Embassy in Bratislava in September 1996. Since January 2018, an Honorary Greek Consulate has been operating in the city of Kosice in eastern Slovakia.
