Sweden
There is mutual representation at the level of Embassies, which operate in Athens and Stockholm. The Hellenic Republic maintains two Honorary Consulates General in Malmö and Gothenburg.
Bilateral Relations
The Greek language is taught in 4 Greek Language Departments integrated in schools. The Chair of Modern Greek Studies at Lund University is the only remaining Department of Modern Greek Studies in Scandinavia with a full curriculum. The Hellenic Cultural Centre Foundation has also been operating since 1980, with the aim of promoting Greek culture and cultural cooperation between the two countries. The Swedish Institute in Athens is active in the fields of archaeology and culture, while a Centre for Hellenic Culture operates in Stockholm. In Sweden, a National Committee for the Return of the Parthenon Sculptures has been established since 2003. The Greek Community numbers about 35,000 members throughout Sweden (mainly Stockholm and Göteborg).
