Bilateral Relations

Tunisia

Our country maintains an Embassy in Tunis and Tunisia maintains an Embassy in Athens.

Bilateral Relations

Bilateral relations between Greece and Tunisia are excellent and are characterized by mutual appreciation and understanding. The two countries have developed a wide range of synergies in the framework of bilateral cooperation, which is reflected in the exchange of high-level visits. Former Foreign Minister, Mr. Dendias, visited Tunis in 29.6.2020, where he signed an Agreement on Maritime Transport and again in 7.9.2021, where he handed over 100.000 doses of Astra Zeneca COVID-19 vaccines. Our country firmly supports the development of Tunisia’s relations with the European Union. There is also a very good bilateral cooperation on mutual support of candidacies within international organizations. Economic and trade relations between Greece and Tunisia focus on areas of common interest, such as energy cooperation, the exploitation of renewable energy, construction and infrastructure, tourism and agri-food sector.
