Greece and Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations in 1992.

Greece is represented in Turkmenistan via parallel accreditation of its Embassy in Moscow, while Turkmenistan maintains its representation in Greece through its Embassy in Moscow.

Greece supports Turkmenistan's policy of neutrality in the context of endorsing all actions that promote stability, security and good neighbourliness in the Eurasian region. Despite the restricted nature of bilateral relations, there is a shared desire to strengthen them. The two countries collaborate in the area of mutual support for candidacies in international organisations.
