The two countries cooperate closely, within the framework of international organizations and across the whole spectrum of their bilateral relations, with frequent exchanges of high-level visits, as well as consultations at official level.
The Strategic Bilateral Framework (SBF) signed in London in October 2021 at the level of Foreign Ministers, which provides for a wide range of cooperation, is of great importance for our relations with the United Kingdom. The SBF also forms the basis for the signing of the "Joint Vision" in February 2023, at the level of Defense Ministers, which aims to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries.
The SBF is subject to annual review:
The 1st Annual Review took place in Athens on 6 December 2022, between the former Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Varvitsiotis, and the British former Minister of State for Europe, Mr. Docherty.
The 2nd Annual Review took place on 30 January 2024 in London, between our Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Alexandra Papadopoulou and Mr. Docherty.
