Coordinating meeting with business agencies on “EU funding mechanisms and investment tools in third countries” (19 September 2011, Foreign Ministry)

Special Secretary for the Development of International Programmes Maria Logotheti will convene a meeting at the Foreign Ministry on Monday, 19 September, of representatives of Greek business agencies.

The meeting will look at the coordination of joint Foreign Ministry-business agency actions for optimizing opportunities that arise for networking of Greek enterprises with international funding organizations within the framework of the event on “EU funding mechanisms and investment tools in third countries: Utilizing the private sector”, which will take place on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 November 2011, in Athens.

This two-day event is being hosted by the Foreign Ministry in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Athens, within the framework of the effort to strengthen the internationalization of Greek enterprises. It is aimed at promoting networking and awareness in the private sector regarding the funding opportunities (loans, capital participation, guarantees) created by the activities of the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Black Sea Trade and Development Bank (BSTDB) and the European Commission in the regions of the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and Southeast Europe, as well as the European Commission investment support mechanisms (Neighbourhood Investment Facility for the Mediterranean region and the Western Balkans Investment Framework for the Western Balkans). The second day of the event (12 November) will be dedicated to individual meetings between representatives of Greek enterprises and high-ranking executives from the EIB, the EBRD and the BSTDB.
