Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, meets with Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, and Minister Delegate, Mohcine Jazouli (Rabat, 4 May 2018)

Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, today met, in Rabat, with the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister Delegate for International and African Cooperation, Mohcine Jazouli.

A shared will for dynamic reinvigoration of bilateral economic relations was ascertained in the meetings, which took place in a very positive climate. The first immediate steps are activation of the Greek-Moroccan business council and the holding of a Joint Interministerial Committee meeting in Athens in the autumn of this year, after an eight-year hiatus.

Beyond the development of bilateral economic relations, it was noted that Morocco can serve as a gateway to West Africa for Greek enterprises in a number of sectors, including construction, shipping, renewable energy sources, pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical products. In the immediate future, fresh momentum will be imparted to the tourism sector by the inauguration of a direct air link between Greece and Morocco.
