Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs, Giorgos Katrougalos, carried out a two-day visit to Tunisia on 11 and 12 February. During his visit, Mr. Katrougalos had a courtesy meeting with the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khemaies Jhinaoui. He also met with the Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Sabri Bachtobji.
Mr. Katrougalos also had meetings with the Minister for Development, Investment and International Cooperation, Zied Laadhari, the Deputy Minister for International Trade, Hichem Ben Ahmed, and Deputy Tourism Minister Salma Elloumi Rekik.
His meetings with the members of Tunisia’s economic team focused on the preparation for the next meeting of the Greek-Tunisian Joint Interministerial Committee, which is set to take place in late 2018, in Athens. Also discussed were strengthening of bilateral economic and business cooperation, and the setting up of an economic council by Greek and Tunisian enterprises.
