Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Markos Bolaris received a courtesy visit today from His Eminence Bishop Pavlos, representative for the Coptic Orthodox Church in Greece.
The Deputy Minister commended the beneficial and extraordinarily productive work by His Eminence in Greece, stressing that good relations between the Coptic Orthodox Church in Egypt and the Church of Greece, which he successfully promotes, lead to positive results with regard to further strengthening the bonds between the two peoples.
The Deputy Minister emphasised the continuing interest of Greece in supporting the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Coptic community in Greece, as was otherwise proven through the recognition in law of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt as an ecclesiastical legal person.Bishop Pavlos briefed the Deputy Minister on initiatives which he intends to undertake shortly, as well as issues related to the functioning of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Greece.
