Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Terens Quick, visits London’s Greek Public School and participates in the events marking Greek and Cypriot National Anniversaries

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Terens Quick, completed his stay in London with a visit to the Public Greek Junior High School/High School and participated in the events marking the Greek and Cypriot National Anniversaries, at the invitation of the National Federation of Cypriots of the United Kingdom, which hosted the co-celebration of Greece’s national anniversary of 25 March 1821 and the anniversary of the start of Cyprus's struggle for liberation on 1 April 1955.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs was the keynote speaker at the main event, with the participation of Greek community organizations of London. The celebration included songs, dances, sketches and poems performed and recited by students from all grades of the Greek schools of London. During his visit to the school, he was taken on a tour of the classes and spoke with the children, many of whose parents left Greece as part of the brain drain. He also met with the teachers seconded from Greece, in order to note any observations they had.

Finally, Mr. Quick attended the gathering organized by the Greek Embassy in Britain on the occasion of Greek Independence Day. The gathering was also attended by Greek professional and community organizations.
