Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs Secretary General, Ambassador Teresa – Paraskevi Angelatou addressed today, as a keynote speaker, the International Conference on “Women and Diplomacy”, organised by the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Piraeus, in cooperation with WomenActGreece.
Examining the role of women in shaping and influencing international relations and diplomacy, the Secretary General said that "we know better that if you are not at the table, someone else will speak for you, often to your detriment". She stressed that human rights, including women rights and gender equality, are a top priority at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while “Women, Peace, and Security” is a key pillar of Greece’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026.
